Alyssa is a PhD student working under the supervision of Prof. Gareth Miles and Dr. Matthew Broadhead. Her research investigates how the dysfunction of non-neuronal cells in the nervous system, known as ‘glial’ cells, contributes to synaptic dysfunction in MND. Her work aims to further our knowledge of how MND develops and reveal potential therapeutic targets for MND.
Alyssa completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at Dalhousie University with specialization in Human Physiology and Disability Management in 2023.
