Prof Kiterie Faller

Professor of Comparative Neurology
MRC Clinician Scientist Fellow
Centre for Discovery Brain Sciences, University of Edinburgh

Dr Kiterie Faller’s research is focused on understanding the cellular changes leading to neurodegeneration in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and spinal muscular atrophy, two devastating motor neuron diseases. She is more particularly interested in the way cells use the energy available to them in disease state. By better understanding the molecular changes, she is hoping to identify new therapeutic targets.

Kiterie graduated in 2005 from the National Veterinary School of Toulouse (France).  She completed her PhD at the University of Oxford in 2012 before completing a residency in veterinary neurology and neurosurgery at the University of Glasgow. She moved to Edinburgh 2017 as a Lecturer in Veterinary Neurology and Neurosurgery. She is currently an MRC Clinician Scientist Fellow and MNDA Lady Edith Wolfson Clinical Fellow.
